Lent Schedule:
Ash Wednesday is on February 17 and marks the beginning of Lent. The Ash Wednesday Service begins at 7.30 pm. It will be a service of Word, Sacrament along with the Imposition of Ashes. The giving of Ash is an old tradition which actually dates to our Old Testament time. It reminds us of the importance of having a penitent heart. Lent is a time of the church year when we recall the events which led Jesus to the Cross. Please join us on our Lenten Journey beginning February 17, through Lent where through our Wednesday Evening program and each Saturday or Sunday through Holy Week and Easter Sunday.

The Wednesday evening Lenton Service this year is based on John Ortberg's award-winning best-seller “If you want to walk on water You’ve got to get out of the Boat.” Simon Peter may have been the first one out of the boat, but Jesus' invitation to walk on water is for us all. But walk on water? What does that mean? Walking on water means:

• facing our fears and choosing not to let fear have the last word
• discovering and embracing the unique calling of God on our lives
• experiencing the power of God to accomplish what we would not be capable of doing on our own.

If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat helps to answer Christ's call to greater faith, power-filled deeds, and a new way of knowing him. Through six sessions that include video clips and group discussions, you will discover how to discern God's call, transcend fear, risk faith, manage failure, and trust God. Relating the story in Matthew 14 to life today, we are invited to consider the incredible potential that awaits you all outside your comfort zones.
